Cover Up

Classic Industries now offers premium-grade car covers for Chevrolet muscle cars (plus other ’47-present Chevys). Several kinds of covers are available to suit your vehicle storage needs. Cars kept in a garage, for example, can use single-layer Diamond Blue covers to keep dust and dirt off the sheetmetal. If your car is parked outdoors, several water- and UV-resistant covers are available, including the top-shelf WeatherBlocker Plus that puts four nonwoven layers between your car and the elements. Information: Classic Industries, 855/35-PARTS (357-2787), www.classicindustries.com.

Blows Cold

Vintage Air has engineered its latest generation of SureFit air conditioning systems for specific classic muscle car applications (the ’69 Camaro system is shown here), so installation requires very minimal alterations to the vehicle. Each Gen IV SureFit system uses a fully electronic microprocessor control system; no cables or vacuum connections are needed. SureFit systems also include Vintage Air’s Electronic Cable Converters to adapt each vehicle’s original cable A/C controls to full electronic function. Beep Beep

Sherman & Associates has added ’68-’69 Road Runner quarter-panels to its ever-growing inventory of reproduction body parts. These factory-style quarters also fit other Mopar B-Bodies, including Satellite, GTX, and Belvedere. Information: Sherman & Associates, 800/345-9487, www.shermanparts.com.

Induction Kit

Edelbrock is adding a satin finish option to its popular single-quad carburetor and intake manifold kits. The manifold — your choice of a Performer, Performer Air-Gap, Performer RPM, or RPM Air-Gap — gets the traditional brushed finish, while the carburetor (either a Performer or Thunder Series AVS) receives a ball-burnished finish. The performance-matched upgrade kits include an intake gasket set, an intake bolt set, and a carburetor stud kit, plus a chrome fuel inlet line. They’re available for small- and big-block Chevy, small-block Chrysler, small- and big-block Ford, and Pontiac applications. Information: Edelbrock Corp., www.edelbrock.com.

Spray Gun Kit

Harbor Freight offers this Central Pneumatic automotive spray gun kit for just $49.99. The kit includes two high-volume, low-pressure (HVLP) spray guns: a 20-ounce gun with 1.4mm and 1.8mm tips and a 4.2-ounce detail gun with a 1.0mm tip. Nylon gravity-feed cups, a filter, cleaning brushes, and a plastic case are also included. Information: Harbor Freight, www.harborfreight.com.

Combo Proportioning Valve

If you’re adding a custom brake setup to your driver, Wilwood has developed a combination proportioning valve that simplifies the mounting, plumbing, wiring, and brake proportioning adjustments needed for such a system. The combination block maintains full isolation between front and rear fluid circuits and can be used in conjunction with any tandem outlet or dual-mount master cylinder assemblies. The front circuit has a single inlet with two outlets, so you can either split the circuit between the two front calipers or plug one and use the other as a single outlet. Information: Wilwood Disc Brakes, 805/388-1188, www.wilwood.com.

Iced Turtle

Turtle Wax has reformulated its premium Ice brand liquid and spray waxes to actually repel water and dirt, says the company, so your car will stay cleaner longer. How does it work? The Ice waxes are actually a sealant with just a limited amount of wax, the company says. The sealant contains a surface-modifying polymer that sticks to your car longer than conventional wax, to help repel water and everyday contaminants. Another nice feature: The new Ice formula can be applied in direct sunlight so you don’t have to find or wait for shade to protect your car. Information: Turtle Wax, www.turtlewax.com.

Rust Encapsulator

Eastwood has developed a new rust encapsulator that takes the form of a rubberized undercoating, so you can stop the spread of rust while protecting the underside of your car with a factorylike finish. The encapsulator can be sprayed directly on bare metal and over existing rust, and it can be covered with a top coat of paint or left as-is for a satin black finish. A single coat dries to the touch in 20 minutes, speeding the application of multiple coats. Information: Eastwood, www.eastwood.com.
