As far as new and exciting models go, both Kawasaki and Triumph have been recently knocking them out of the park year on year. And when it comes to this particular class, they’ve both produced the best examples of the breed.
The convoluted, and often confusing, middleweight naked class is huge. There’s also a performance divide, with two or three tiers of ability we here at Fast Bikes are most interested in.
Cunningly, Triumph and Kawasaki also sit at the top of the second tier, with the stock Street Triple and Z800 e both vying for top spot in that particular title race. Despite all the choice though, there’s really very little reason to choose anything else but one of these two, especially if you have a pulse.
It’s interesting to note that they both also hail from completely different roots and philosophies. The Triumph is born from a supersport machine, making few concessions to dilute that essential essence. The Kawasaki, meanwhile, has been designed from year dot as a naked roadster. It has no supersport DNA running through its veins, but it has years of refined road-craft ingrained into its being.
