SMALL-BLOCK THUMPER | ’68 CAMARO | PETER G. HILLEBRAND | LAGUNA NIGUEL, CA
“With the help of my wife and daughter, we just stuffed a fresh 434 Dart small-block roller into our ride, which also produced an impressive 635 hp at Westech Performance,” Peter Hillebrand says. Before this rebuild, it pulled 678 hp. However, the camshaft and matching valvetrain proved to be a bit much for the street. Even though they’ve toned down the heat, their powerplant still runs well into the 10s, and they enjoy ripping down Pacific Coast Highway.

FIRST CRUSH | ’80 CAMARO BERLINETTA | ERIK SWENSON | WESTMINSTER, MA
Meet Erik Swenson and his ’80 Camaro Berlinetta that originally came with a 305ci small-block coated in Midnight Metallic Blue. It currently features a 350ci that’s been punched 0.030 over with a Borg-Warner Super T10 out of a Z28. Outside, his hue of choice was Hugger Orange with Dover White rally stripes. For rollers, only Coys C5 wheels would do with a 17x8/18x9.5 front/rear combo.
GOT TWINS? | ’68 CHEVELLE SS | MICHAELAND TAMI RAMSEY | CANTON, GA
What began as a $600 field car has transformed into a big-budget, show-winning, twin-supercharged, Pro Street ’68 Chevelle SS. This was a complete frame-off restoration, and every component was either purchased new or fabricated in-house. Underneath the hood is a 572ci big-block that has been upgraded with a Callies crankshaft, Dart Big Chief heads, a dry-sump oiling system, a COMP Cams solid roller, a custom-ported Dart intake manifold with a direct-port nitrous system, a pair of Vortech YSi superchargers, and good enough for 1,300-plus horsepower to the wheels. Add the seven-layer chrome yellow with white stripes and you have the perfect combination to be the envy of the show.
